Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association

The association is to be named “မြန်မာယွန်းထည်အသင်း” in Myanmar language and “Myanmar Lacquerware Association” in English Language.
The registered office of the association is located in the Compound of Lacquerware Technology College, Old Bagan City, Nyaung U Township, Mandalay Region.

• MLA can recommend and introduce suitable and reputable suppliers based on buyers’ requirements.
• MLA can lay out the roadmap for buyers on what to prepare when importing from Myanmar. A checklist with contacts for trusted forwarding companies and customs clearance agents will be provided upon request.
• For high-quantity buyers, MLA can arrange production collaborations amongst the member companies to fulfil the necessary quantity.
• To cooperate more closely with not only the lacquerware artists and entrepreneurs from Began-Nyaung U township, but also the artists, manufacturers and distributers from the whole of Myanmar and to further develop the lacquerware businesses by recruiting members, whether they are sole proprietor or partnership (or) private or public limited companies (local or foreign) (or) industrial clusters (or) lacquer artists.
• To improve the quality of Myanmar lacquerware, to increase the production and to sell in the local market as well as to export to the international markets.
• To successfully implement the processes of industrial clusters, to connect and do business with local and international businesses which have an interest in Myanmar lacquerware and to distribute the necessary market information.
• To cooperate with international organizations, local and international private organizations and businesses for technological exchange and acquiring business opportunities.
• To establish the Myanmar Lacquerware Association by unifying the local lacquerware artists and entrepreneurs.
• To participate in discussions and seminars, to exhibit in public exhibitions and to take part in non-political activities in cooperation with local and international lacquerware related organizations.
• To improve the success of Lacquerware businesses and increase the job opportunities, leading to the increased income level of lacquerware workers and artists, which will contribute to the Nation’s poverty reduction and rural development processes.
• To work for the success and development of the Myanmar lacquerware industry as a whole with the leadership of the Association.
