Kyaw Thu, the Patron of MRBEA, transitioned from the Ministry of Transport & Communication to private business in 1989, focusing on rattan exports. He founded Classic Home Co., Ltd. in 2005, a thriving family business exporting rattan and bamboo furniture. Kyaw Thu co-founded MRBEA in 2014, elevating it to national recognition in 2015. He also initiated the Myanmar International Furniture Expo (MIFE) in 2015, a prominent industry platform. Additionally, as a co-founder of GREEN MOVE Co., Ltd., Kyaw Thu manages over 150 acres of bamboo farms in Yangon and the Pego region. Kyaw Thu’s leadership and commitment have been the driving force in propelling the rattan and bamboo industry in Myanmar, shaping its trajectory towards sustainability and growth.

Myint Oo, Chairman of MRBEA, oversees efforts for sustainable growth and innovation in Myanmar’s rattan and bamboo industry. With certifications from AOTS/HIDA Tokyo, Japan, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore, he brings strategic leadership skills to his position. As the founder of Bella Interiors, Myint Oo has been involved in the export of rattan and bamboo home decoration products. Under his leadership, MRBEA promotes eco-friendly initiatives and technological advancements, aiming to enhance the industry’s competitiveness and sustainability. Myint Oo’s focus is on positioning Myanmar as a leader in rattan and bamboo craftsmanship.
Vice Chairman 1, MRBEA
Tin Oo, Vice Chairman 1 of MRBEA, spearheads sustainable growth and innovation in the rattan and bamboo industry. With TK Interiors, he exports exquisite rattan home decoration products, showcasing Myanmar’s craftsmanship globally. Tin Oo’s leadership at MRBEA empowers entrepreneurs, promotes modernization, and advocates eco-conscious practices, cementing Myanmar’s position as an industry leader. Thaung Aye is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in the rattan and bamboo industry. As Vice Chairman 2 of the Myanmar Rattan and Bamboo Entrepreneurs Association (MRBEA), he shapes policies driving industry growth. Thaung Aye founded Calamus Hill Co., Ltd., an esteemed exporter, and advises entrepreneurs in the sector. His expertise spans rattan, bamboo, grass, and water hyacinth handicrafts, furniture, and processing. A champion of sustainability, he promotes eco-friendly practices. Under his leadership, MRBEA fosters innovation and collaboration, positioning Myanmar as a global leader in rattan and bamboo craftsmanship. Thaung Aye’s vision and dedication make him a driving force, shaping the industry’s future with excellence.
General Secretary, MRBEA
Tin Myo San, General Secretary of MRBEA, brings over 25 years of industry experience to his role. Since 1994, he has been actively involved in the rattan and bamboo sector, gaining invaluable insights and expertise. In 2017, Tin Myo San embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by founding Shwe Sin Kyal Family, a rattan and bamboo business that has flourished under his leadership. As General Secretary of MRBEA, Tin Myo San plays a crucial role in coordinating association activities and advocating for the interests of rattan and bamboo entrepreneurs in Myanmar.

As Co-Founder of Stella Collections and Director (Sourcing & Product Dev) at Bella Interiors Co., Ltd., Bo Bo Paing Oo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in the rattan and bamboo sector. His roles have ranged from strategic planning and product development to supply chain management. In his current position as Joint Secretary 1 of MRBEA, Bo Bo Paing Oo plays a vital role in coordinating association activities and advocating for the interests of rattan and bamboo entrepreneurs in Myanmar. Thet Htar brings a wealth of industry expertise to his role as Joint Secretary 2 of MRBEA with a background in sales, marketing, and export management. She has demonstrated a keen understanding of the rattan and bamboo sector. During her tenure as Sales and Marketing Manager at Boulevard Outdoor Furniture from 2011 to 2016, Thet Htar honed her skills in promoting and showcasing outdoor furniture and home decoration products. In her current position as Joint Secretary 2 of MRBEA, Thet Htar plays a pivotal role in supporting association activities and developing the Burma Crafts website.

Aye Nanthar, Treasurer of MRBEA, is a seasoned entrepreneur and the founder of Rattan Home by Glorious Family. With a keen understanding of the rattan and bamboo industry, she brings valuable insight to the association. In her role, Aye Nanthar oversees the financial aspects of MRBEA, ensuring its sustainability and growth. Tin Htun Ni, a member of MRBEA’s Central Executive Committee, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the rattan and bamboo industry. Graduating from Rangoon Arts and Science University in Physics in 1978, he pursued a career in merchant shipping, where he currently serves as a Master (Captain). With a deep passion for bamboo, Tin Htun Ni has been an active member of Myanmar’s bamboo community for many years. He founded Bamboo Star Co. Ltd in the mid-1990s and currently directs SIRBONI Furnishings, a sustainability and design-oriented furniture company based in Yangon. His leadership and expertise in the industry make him a valuable asset to MRBEA, driving initiatives that promote sustainability and innovation in Myanmar’s rattan and bamboo sector.
